On behalf of our authors, audience, volunteers, and board, we extend our gratitude to those who helped to make the Eighth Annual History Book Festival on Sept. 27–29, and the HBF Community Event on September 30, a resounding success!
Over 6,000 people attended author presentations over the four-day period, the largest attendance in HBF history. We are deeply grateful to the 24 authors who joined us to discuss their works of historical nonfiction and fiction.
We owe a great debt of thanks to those who bring HBF to life: our many volunteers, our production team, and, of course, our attendees. Over the years, authors have told us they were impressed by the intellectual curiosity and passion of our audience, but attendees are equally impressed by what our authors bring to the festival each year. As an attendee at the Community Event with Doris Kearns Goodwin said, “It does invigorate and give hope when you can hear someone that impassioned about principles, life, humanity” – a sentiment that describes many of the authors who have appeared at HBF over the years.
